Finding Connection: How Togetherness Builds Wellbeing in Our Community
At its core, Navigating Sanctuary Life is built on a simple but powerful belief: spaces where people feel safe, heard, and valued can completely change lives.
Recently, we gathered for our Togetherness Builds Wellbeing session. It was a day filled with laughter, shared stories, and deep connection. Looking back at the feedback shared by our participants, we are reminded exactly why creating these spaces matters so much.
For many asylum seekers, refugees, and ethnic minority community members in Glasgow, navigating a new life can feel isolating. This session was designed to break down those barriers—and the community notes left on our feedback board showed us just how powerful that day was.
In Their Own Words: What the Session Meant to Participants
The true heart of the event came through in the beautiful messages left by those who attended. Here is a glimpse of what the day meant to our community:
"We really enjoyed being part of the community, we made many new friends which made us very happy."
"It’s a good day. I meet new people, enjoyed snacks, and talk to people of different countries. Thanks NSL."
From making brand-new friends and meeting neighbors from entirely different corners of the world, to simply feeling safe, welcomed, and more connected—every piece of feedback reminded us of the strength found in unity.
A Heartfelt Thank You
An environment this warm and supportive doesn't just happen on its own. It is built by the people who show up, open their hearts, and share their experiences. To everyone who joined us: thank you for helping us create such a sanctuary of safety and joy.
Guided by Incredible Partners
We are deeply grateful to the funders, organizations, and partners whose vital support makes the Togetherness Builds Wellbeing project possible. Their commitment allows us to keep opening doors, hosting drop-ins, and building a stronger, more inclusive Glasgow.
